The EPS-The inner shell of the KED helmets ensures maximum impact absorption in the event of a fall. The one integrated into the helmet shell Mips® Brain Protection System provides additional protection for the brain in the event of an oblique impact angle. The rotational forces that act on the brain in this case can cause brain damage. The low-friction shell of the Mips® Brain Protection System allows gliding of 10–15 mm in all directions at an oblique impact angle. The rotational forces acting on the brain can be efficiently reduced.

A FIDLOCK® belt fastener makes it incredibly easy to securely close the belt system. Thanks to the combination of magnetic force and mechanical locking, the FIDLOCK® Buckle closes virtually automatically and can be operated with just one hand.

The BOA® Fit System is the tried and tested reference for adjustment systems in many sports products. With ingeniously simple one-handed operation, the head ring can be fine-tuned even while driving. The ergonomic BOA® Fit System guarantees a secure and perfect fit in all situations.

In addition to the European standard EN 1078, e-bike helmets also meet the requirements of NTA 8776 for Pedelec helmets. There is currently no legally effective EU standard for an S-Pedelec helmet. Therefore, an industry project group in the Netherlands came together and developed its own standard. The NTA 8776 was developed under the leadership of the NEN - Standards Institute for the Netherlands. Compared to a CE / EN 1078 certified helmet, an NTA 8776 certified helmet shell has a 10% larger protective area around the two most sensitive areas of the head: the back of the head and the temples. In addition, the NTA places approximately 40% higher demands on shock absorption.

The In-Mold-Technology ensures a seamless and firm connection between the outer shell and the EPS-Inner shell. The prefabricated microshell is inserted into the shape of the inner shell and “welded” to it during the foaming process. This In-MoldThe process thus enables a “seamless design” – a design implementation without transitions and with the highest optical quality and contour sharpness. Furthermore, it is convincing In-Mold-Procedure due to extremely low weight with very high safety protection.

KED helmets “Designed in Germany” are developed with the highest standards of functionality, safety and comfort. Even if they are manufactured outside of Germany, they meet the same technical specifications and quality standards - characterized by German engineering.
