How do you find the right riding helmet size?
Measure your head circumference at the widest point of the head, about two finger widths above the eyebrows. If your measurement falls within one of the Paso size ranges, that is the starting point for trying it on. Where size ranges overlap, the actual fit decides: the helmet should sit evenly around the head without causing pressure points or headaches.
How should a riding helmet fit?
Place the helmet centrally on your head. It should slip neither far back onto the neck nor low onto the forehead, and should sit roughly one to two finger widths above the eyebrows. Move your head carefully forward and to the sides. If the helmet stays in position and your eyebrows move slightly with it, that points to a good fit. Adjust the straps so that normal jaw movements remain possible.

When should a riding helmet be replaced?
After a fall or a blow to the helmet it should be replaced, even if no damage is visible on the outside. The Deutsche Reiterliche Vereinigung also recommends replacing a riding helmet after three to five years from first use, depending on how intensively it has been used and on its condition. Store it in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight.
