Produktion in Deutschland

Bike helmet Made in Germany

KED is the only bike helmet manufacturer still producing in Germany. Since 1985, the helmets have been made in Freiberg am Neckar, from foaming the EPS inner shell to final assembly. At KED, Made in Germany is not just an origin statement on the label, but a production model that shows in every manufacturing step.

What Made in Germany means at KED

  • Production in Freiberg am Neckar

In Freiberg am Neckar, development and manufacturing sit under one roof. This allows short paths between design, production and quality control. Material decisions, process adjustments and quality checks interlock directly. At KED, Made in Germany means: key production steps take place in Germany, in an environment that actively uses this proximity.

  • A label with real substance

In the KED range, Made in Germany is a clearly defined feature. It stands for helmets that are produced entirely in Germany. Not every model carries this label, but manufacturing in Germany is firmly anchored in the company.

  • Responsibility that is visible

Manufacturing in Germany means controlling production steps directly, feeding back insights faster and ensuring quality at every point in the process. For safety-relevant products like bike helmets, it is exactly this depth of manufacturing that counts.

  • Produktionsschritt Schäumerei

Foaming of the helmet's inner shell

Foaming the helmet's inner shell is a central step in KED production. This is where the basis for the helmet's damping properties is created. The process takes place in Freiberg am Neckar, under direct quality control.

  • Produktion in Deutschland

    Final assembly

Final assembly of the Made in Germany models also takes place in Germany. Here, individual parts, adjustment mechanisms, shell and comfort components are brought together to form the finished helmet. No interfaces, no loss of control.

  • Innenansicht eines KED Helms mit Polsterung

    Smallest components

Even the smallest injection-molded parts are produced and tested in Germany. Feel, fit and reliability are also created where small details meet the same standards as the big ones.
