Mips® Brain Protection System

The EPS inner shell absorbs impact energy with maximum efficiency. The integrated Mips system complements this protection with a low-friction intermediate layer that allows controlled micro-movements, so forces can be redirected away from the head. In this way, it is designed to help reduce the risk of brain injuries.

BOA® Fit adjustment system

The BOA® Fit System is the benchmark for precise adjustment. With its ergonomic dial, the head ring can be adjusted with millimetre precision using one hand – at any time, even while riding.
For uncompromising hold and a perfect fit in every situation.

FIDLOCK strap buckle

The FIDLOCK buckle combines magnetic force with a mechanical lock, ensuring automatic, precise closing.

It can be operated intuitively and safely with just one hand – even in demanding conditions.

Suitable for speed e-bikes / S-pedelecs

In addition to EN 1078, e-bike helmets also meet the demanding NTA 8776 standard for pedelecs. It offers around 10% more protection area at the back of the head and temples and requires 40% higher impact absorption than conventional EN 1078 helmets. Developed by the Dutch standardisation institute NEN, it is now considered the benchmark for e-bike safety.

How does the Pector differ from other helmets?

The Pector combines the BOA® Fit System, Fidlock® magnetic buckle and Mips® Brain Protection System in one lightweight high-performance helmet. This combination makes the Pector ME-1 a true premium product.

What does “Designed and Engineered in Germany” mean?

KED helmets “Designed in Germany”, including the Pector ME-1, are developed at our site in Freiberg am Neckar with the highest standards of functionality, safety and wearing comfort.

Is the Pector also approved for e-bikes or pedelecs?

Yes. The Pector meets both the EN 1078 standard and the NTA 8776 standard for pedelec helmets. It thus offers around 10% more protection area at the temples and back of the head, as well as approx. 40% higher impact absorption compared to conventional helmets.

Is the Mips® Brain-Protection-System really a safety plus?

Mips® can reduce rotational forces that act on the brain in angled impacts. A low-friction layer allows micro-movements and is designed to minimize the risk of serious injuries.
